A guide to the International arbitration planner
|
Welcome to the International Arbitration Planner.
The Planner provides a one-stop source of information on international arbitration conferences, courses and seminars, with the aim of acting as a virtual notice board for the international arbitration community.
Arbitration events provide a unique opportunity for users of arbitration - companies, practitioners, students or arbitrators - to share information. Given the private nature of the arbitral process, arbitration events offer invaluable opportunities for education, debate and networking.
You can view events planned in or near your jurisdiction and, in many cases, preview the detailed programmes and contact the organisers.
We rely heavily on our users to ensure that this website is as complete and up-to-date as possible. Please feel free to use the 'Tell Us About Your Event' and 'Feedback' functions.

Tip of the month
|
|
When drafting an arbitration clause, consider whether to explicitly limit the arbitrator's authority to award fees and costs as a sanction for certain behaviour. Under recent US case law, absent such an express limitation in the clause, an arbitrator may sanction a party’s deemed bad faith by awarding attorney fees and costs.

Note: This is a general tip only. Seek specific advice in all cases.
